Dragon Roommates - AdventureCon
[Conventions weren't exactly Tai's thing. He'd only been to an anime con in the past and that was only because Naomi needed a chaperon and well... Things had been tense in the Mikano household so Tai did the pseudo-big-brother duty of scooping her up and taking her away for the weekend.
But he didn't pay attention to the "con scene" outside of things people would tell him or photos he saw online. So the fact that there was going to be a multimedia convention near him and Dany? Well he'd been completely clueless until Sparrow had mentioned it during on of the late night raids in Adventure Quest.
And then it spread like wildfire throughout their little guild until at least half of them were talking about booking hotels and attending. There was already an official meet up for Adventure Quest players, as well as panels and "swag" as someone called it. Tai still didn't know why they called free merchandise swag but apparently it was a Thing at conventions. In all honesty it sounded like a lot of fun, even if it wasn't something Tai actively wanted to go too outside of maybe seeing friends.
... At least until he heard Dany speaking about it with Enjolras and, well...
It had taken him until his next pay check from both jobs, as well as the handful of odd ones he'd picked up, but he'd somehow managed to get him and Dany three-day-passes and a fairly cheap hotelwith Hunter's help, because like hell Tai could afford a hotel on his own but splitting it was great.. He had gone as far as to wrap hers up and present it to her as a birthday gift.
And here they were. The Adventure Quest meet up was winding down and Tai stood off to the side watching various people's bags in his comfiest t-shirt and cargo pants. He'd declined dressing up, mostly because he knew Dany was going to need someone to help her around.
