[She stops, eyes looking skyward again. Naomi gives a little huff, shaking her head in response to Serenity's request. It probably looks comical, watching her argue with herself.

Then she scowls, levels Gabriel with a small look of betrayal before she shuts her eyes. For a brief moment it looks like she might fall over, but she regains her balance and when her eyes open their a clear blue.

Serenity levels Gabriel with a Look, arms crossed over her chest in her best attempt to seem angry even if a grin is forming.]

Gabriel, only you could make a little girl go from looking at you in utter awe to enraged.

[Gabriel just pats Serenity on the shoulder, completely nonchalant to the fact that an angel just took the reins of this young girl's body. Whatever. Shit happens all the time.]

I wanted to see how easily she'd crack.

[She swats his hand away when he goes to pat her shoulder. The smile was gone at his words.

Serenity is protective of Naomi.]

Or rather so cruel of you. If that is the only business you have here, to see a poor girl crack, then I would rather you leave.

[His lips are a little thin, now, as he talks to his sister. His hand moves back to her shoulder.]

[Because he had still been in Heaven last she remembered, before she'd fallen to be with Markel.]

[She frowns, Mama Bear Protectiveness for Naomi vanishing.]

What has happened? I fear I'm not as... Aware of things as I should be given my circumstances and my focus being more on making sure Markel does not do anything foolish, again.

[He just shakes his head, sliding an arm over Serenity's shoulders, speaking quietly.]

The Apocalypse, Serenity. The Apocalypse is happening. End times, Armageddon, the Big Flush. There's a war between Heaven and Hell, and the poor saps on this planet are the casualties.

[She's quiet for a long moment, before shaking her head.]

The world will not end.

[Of that she is sure of.]

It is not time for the End.

[And it's said in that ominous tone Serenity so often knew, eyes going far away for a moment. No. It's not time yet.]

Maybe it is, maybe it isn't. This nigh-omnipotence thing isn't exactly working out in my favor anymore.

[There's a little sigh, a cynical one. Almost like he's lost hope.]

It is not.

[She gives him a look reminiscent of Naomi irritated puffed out cheeks.]

Besides, if it was Markel would be throwing a temper tantrum instead of trying to kill me. As he has not stopped his attempts or released Naomi's brother, I can safely assure you that the Apocalypse will not be happening.

[But she can't help but notice the cynical sigh, and the irritation fades.]

[There's another sigh, and Gabriel runs his hand through his vessel's slicked-back hair. This is getting heavy, and he can already feel himself wanting to back out.

No.]

You know the true vessels, Lucifer's - and the Michael Sword? The Winchesters. They know. And they're not backing down. They won't just get it over with.

Oh, you mean the whole "you have to kill your brother sorry" getting it over with?

[She raises an eyebrow, arms crossed over her chest. She's not sure whether Gabriel expects her to be angry at the Winchesters for that or not.]

[He looks at her incredulously right back.]

You know if I ran into Michael or Lucifer right now themselves, I'd shank their asses.

[She shakes his head.]

Yes, but we are a bit different then humans, are we not? We have got centuries upon centuries to become fed up with one another.

[And to his incredulous stare, she shrugs.]

Perhaps it's due to the fact that my current vessels brother is Markel, but I can easily understand the Winchesters feelings about this. Naomi does not want to kill her brother just because he's Markel's vessel and from what I can see? Kou is desperately fighting against Markel. [That's actually an understatement if what she's overheard from Tyler is true.] They want to protect each other, to find alternatives outside of killing even when others are pressuring them to do just that.

Yes, it's the apparent way to stop the apocalypse - [she still has to roll her eyes at that, so sorry for the bit of sass Gabriel.] - but in the end their brothers who have not had centuries to grow to hate one another.

[A beat.]

Plus humans never want to do what their told. You should know that. Free will.

Centuries? For us older ones, it's more like eons, sweetheart. A century's like a minute for me.

[And he is so, so much older than her, even if he is the youngest archangel.

The more she talks about her vessel, though, about Markel's, he can't - he sees too much of a parallel there. Naomi and Kou are in the same situation Dean and Sam are in, same positioning and everything, and it's - it's so fucked how things repeat themselves in small cycles.

[If looks could kill angels... Serenity knows very well that he is much older then anyone around them, then Serenity herself.

And don't get her started on cycles. She's still stuck in one and has lost more then Gabriel can imagine.]

That seems to be a good summation of our situations.

[it's such a versatile word, and Gabriel finds it to be one of his more common expletives, right up there with his favorite euphemisms like 'chucklehead' or 'dingus'.]
