[That hadn't been the word Kou used when he returned from that school trip, but Zane doesn't want to be insulting.]

Mmm, that does sound like a nice bonus. Though you might see some nice shirtless guys at the festival if it's warm enough.

Cannes is on the shore, where the movie festival is.

[He laughs that bell-like laugh again. By now, Zane should have been lectured, but Jehan is placing a small spell over the restaurant and no one's noticing them]

[Later on he'll wonder why no one came to yell at him for not hurrying up, but Zane will just chalk it up to luck. It's not like they're too busy.

The smile strains as he shakes his head.]

[He smiles, and then his eyes widen.]

Oh! Right, what would you like to eat? Besides not-powdered lemonade.

I'll eat anything you recommend, except for French fries.

Ah, but what about sweet potatoe fries?

Sweet potatoes are an American thing. I don't like them, either.

Yes we do, we've got chicken cesar salad, chicken fingers, grilled chicken, chicken pot pie... Probably a few other ones, but those are the most popular things.

[He gives a small wave, taking a step back and practically running into another waiter. With an awkward laugh he ducks his head, retreating into the kitchen to place the order.

When Zane returns with his drink, Jehan has left for the restroom but there's a napkin with his number on it (and a "brb")]

[He'd half thought he had scared Jehan off when he returns with the lemonade - and a plate of sweet potatoe fries because. Reasons.

The napkin makes him smile, the number even more. He looks left, then right, before pulling out his pad and scribbling his own number down along with a heart and switching it with the napkin.]

That evening, when Zane should be walking home, he'll likely hear someone playing a flute off in a field somewhere. It's a very alluring sound]

[Zane cannot wait until he gets home. There's a pint of ice cream with his name on it and a marathon of NCIS to watch.

At least that's the plan until he hears the flute playing. Turning his head he listens for a minute, then changes direction and follows it.]

[The music will lead him to a sort of maze of rosebushes not far from a park that weren't there the day before. Not that anyone walking by seems to notice. If he follows the music through the maze, he'll find--

Well, it's obviously Jehan but not quite the same cute boy that was at the diner. For one, he's a lot paler, almost paper white and for another, his hair is literally fire-red, though the light can make it look strawberry-red.
